The Program in Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies invites applications from qualified graduate students working on issues of gender and feminist studies to lead the Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies Graduate Scholars Colloquium. This award is designed to support the research of a graduate student who will organize the interdisciplinary colloquium in Gender and Feminist Studies.
Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies supports two qualified graduate students to lead the Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies Graduate Scholars Colloquium. The Graduate Scholars Co-Leader position is designed to support the research of a graduate student who will organize the interdisciplinary colloquium in Gender and Feminist Studies. Responsibilities include attending the colloquium, soliciting and scheduling presentations from graduate students and guest faculty speaker(s), publicizing colloquium meetings, and recruiting new members. Grad Scholars Leaders also are required to submit an end-of-year report to the Director of Graduate Studies.
Graduate Scholars Colloquium Leaders serve a two-year term, staggered to allow for the pairing of one new leader together with a leader returning from the previous year. Each recipient serves a two-year term. We encourage applications from long-time Grad Scholars participants and certificate students who have not yet led the colloquium, and hope to appoint a student whose training provides interdisciplinary leadership for the continuing work of the group. Graduate students enrolled in the Certificate Program in Feminist Studies will have priority for this leadership award.
