Jennifer Mohr Hyde, B.A. 1994

President, Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics; and Board Chair, Pediatric Physicians of Children’s Hospital Boston

1994 Major: Biology and Women's Studies (now GSF)

How has being a GSF (or Women's Studies) graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"It prepared me for leadership and advocacy- both as a citizen and a physician. It taught me how to ask hard questions and gave me the faith in myself to work toward improving the heath and wellbeing of others."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Gender, Sexuality & Feminist Studies programs?

"I don’t know if the degree in the end matters as much as your passion while pursuing it. Take courses that excite you and stretch and challenge you. Use your precious time at Duke to open your mind and build your strength. Every day is an opportunity."
